In The Classroom
I am a student at East Carolina University double majoring in Business and Communications with concentrations in Operation and Supply Chain Management and Public Relations respectively. I plan to get my MBA at ECU after I complete my undergrad in the spring of 2017.
I currently have a 3.71 GPA on a traditional scale and am a member of both the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and Beta Gamma Sigma, the honors Business fraternity.
Out Of The Classroom - Community Service
I do everything I can to stay involved with the community. I have lived in Greenville, North Carolina my whole life and always do my best to find ways to utilize my gifts to help others.
I absolutely love basketball and have a passion for working with youth. As a result, I have been coaching basketball at St. Peter's School since I was in 10th grade. My first four years, I was an assistant coach but the last two years, I have been the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. It is cool to me that I can help young adults develop spiritually, physically and socially while passing on my love of the sport of basketball.
In addition to coaching, I also work with local youth groups. I have helped out with both middle school and high school youth groups. I think it is great that I can have a positive impact on young people as they struggle to find themselves. Often times having one person to look up to who they know is always there for them can make a significant difference.
I have also volunteered extensively at the homeless shelter, the Ronald McDonald house, led Christian retreats and been on several mission trips to Pittsburgh. I have been blessed with many gifts and feel the need to give back however I can.
About Me
I am an upbeat person that refuses to let the struggles of life bring me down. The most important thing in the world to me is my family and my friends and I am very loyal to the people I care about. I can be the extroverted life of the party or I can be the in introvert who sits back and listens depending on the social situation. Anytime there is an opportunity to meet new people and make connections I do my best to take advantage of it, and as a result I have a strong network, especially in the Greenville area. Traveling and seeing new places is something that my friends and I do our best to do as much as possible. It gives a new perspective on everyday life so I think it is important to see as much of the world as possible, especially while I'm young. I enjoy stimulating conversations, attempting to explain the inexplicable, staying up to date on the wide world of sports and reading articles about business.
Why Me?
I get along well with people, can read other's emotions and react accordingly well, have a passion for service, and am a quick-learner who is competitive and will work long hours to achieve success. I have been successful and well-liked at every organization I have been a part of because of my unending optimism, lack of complaining, reliability and work ethic.
In the future I hope to have a job that gives me financial security and growth potential. I am willing to work extremely hard and definitely want to be able to continue climbing up the ladder as I do. I can make the most of any situation, but being rewarded for hard work is very important to me. I hope to find not merely a job I have to do but a career that I look forward to going to work everyday doing. Whatever field I end up in, I want to be making a positive impact on the world and working with as many people as possible.
